The director and Hi5 trainer take care of the Hi5 training programme and guide the students during the entire programme. The social worker is a trainer and provides personal support and counselling when needed. The English teachers help the students improving their English language. The cook prepares the lunch for everyone and helps graduates with their job applications. The communication officer/trainer is responsible for fundraising, marketing and communication, and partly training.



Kim Groeneweg – Director & Founder

I am Kim, founder, director and trainer. After 10 years of working in developing countries training farmers and local trainers in rural communities I am now learning about the Tanzania hospitality sector because they asked me to come and help them to get better staff. I strongly believe that everyone deserves an opportunity. I am very pleased that the tourism is offering this to the Tanzanian youth. They only need a little push to get a there and keep that job! The right education and the right attitude can make people to believe in themselves and do wonders. I am very happy to see that the Jobortunity team has set the first little steps towards building a place where people can meet, learn and grow and who knows…maybe even fly?!

Frank Jacob – Hi5 Trainer

My name is Frank Jacob; I work as Employability Skills Trainer. I have six years experience train youth/adult in school and communities and run Train of Trainer programmes on Gender equality, Stigma reduction and Behavioural change relating to HIV/AIDS prevention education. Is exciting working in Jobortunity creating opportunities and train Tanzanian youth have professional and brilliant attitude and work in hospitality industry. I believe youth could do wonderful work when are given opportunities, trusted and empowered through education. It’s all about attitude make yours positive. I hope the programme grows to create more Tanzanian people who have positive and professional attitude at their work.

Esther Kija Sayi – Social Worker/ Trainer

I am Esther and I have a bachelor’s degree in social work and a minor in psychology at Daystar University in Nairobi. I have worked with three different organizations; two as a volunteer and one as a part time employee. I did a Training of Trainers Training at Jobortunity and would love to be an expert trainer. Furthermore, It has always been my passion to help others make a positive difference in their lives and for this I highly appreciate and love my job and will always Endeavour to give my very best.

Happyness Kaaya – Cook

My name is Happyness Ndelilio Kaaya. I come from Nkoanrua village in Arumeru District. Before coming to Jobortunity I started my training in Leguruki vocation training center and Wamata tailoring Center.  I got my certificate in electricity and Tailoring. In July 2007 my father passed away so I stayed with my mother, 2 sisters, brother, and my child. On  16th of September 2009 I joined Jobortunity Training Institute as a student. In February 2010 my three year old child passed away. I did not go to Jobortunity for 2 weeks but decided to continue. In May I started my practical training at Rivertrees Country Inn where I did my practical training in housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen department and a bit as a waitress. Luckily on august 25th I got a job in Jobortunity as an office assistant so I am an employee of Jobortunity now! To all that was my wish to work and be HI5 and show other students how to be professional and be loyal in team work. HI5!

Susanne Beentjes – Communication Officer/trainer

I am Susanne from the Netherlands. Two years ago I went for my master study in International Public Health to Tanzania. During that time not realizing what this great experience did with me; I felt in love with the country, beautiful nature, friendly people, and especially with my lovely fiancé named Akimu. I decided to leave Holland behind and find new life in Tanzania. I struggled to find a job, but luckily Jobortunity gave me the chance to work for them. Through Jobortunity I am able to fulfil my ambition to help people in need – in this case to help vulnerable youth to get a job which opens their future perspectives! My aim is to help Jobortunity to become self-reliant and to promote Jobortunity and the Hi5 approach where ever there is a need! Karibu sana/welcome/welkom!

Neema Samwel – Office Assistant

I come from Arumeru District in Arusha. Before coming to Jobortunity I owned my small business selling clothes. I have done four year in Nkoanrua Secondary School and I stopped in October 2008. In our family we are two men and my sister and I live with our mother. We have a father but because of family problems they separated. In 2009 I joined Jobortunity Training Institute as a student. In June 2010 I started my practical training in Moivaro Lodge and up to August 2010 I passed though the following departments; housekeeping, kitchen and reception. After graduation I got I job working as a receptionist but I got problems which cause me to stop my job. And now I am working in Jobortunity as assistant office so I got employment now. I wish to become a Hi5 trainer and to teach people how to have positive attitude. As this really helped me in my life and I still giving me power!

Daatih Willms – English Language TrainerEnglish Language Trainer

My name is Daatih. When I finished school at the International School of Moshi I was 19 years and I found out I was pregnant with twins. It was very unexpected but I managed to bring Mischa and Rosa Willms into the world. They are now growing up quickly and it’s a joy for me to see them change each day. At 21 years I joined a training course at Jobortunity and ever since I haven’t left. I started as a volunteer and got offered a part time job as an English Language Trainer. I enjoy the job a lot since I am kept very busy and it’s definitely an experience I would like to go on with.
