Complimenten aan Jobortunity

Ingrid Eefting, voormalig lodge manager Moivaro KIA Lodge in Arusha, over Jobortunity:

“Mijn man en ik hebben een 1,5 jaar een Lodge gemanaged in Tanzania en zijn hierdoor in contact gekomen met Jobortunity. We hebben enkele leerlingen van de organisatie gehad in de Lodge en waren altijd enthousiast. Ze steken met kop en schouders uit vergeleken met leerlingen van de reguliere scholen in de omgeving. Je merkt dat ze een training hebben gehad , ze zijn gedreven om te leren, gastgericht en gemotiveerd. Wij hadden in die periode het liefst trainees van alleen maar Jobortunity, maar helaas was dit niet altijd mogelijk. Wat ik wil zeggen is dat we jullie als organisatie alleen maar complimenten kunnen geven en dat jullie vooral zo door moeten gaan. Met name in Afrika, waar kinderen al zo weinig kansen krijgen. Hi5 football

Jobortunity developed a unique Hi5 training for Future Stars Academy, located in Arusha. The training addresses personal development of both the coaches and kids of Future Stars. Even better results class 2: 92% has a job!

Last July the second group of students graduated and as we reported back then – more than half of them had a job upon graduation. After one month out of 37 students 32 students have found a job (86%). At present, January 2012, 92% of them have a job! Most students (59%) got a job at the same company where they did their practical training. One of the graduates got the opportunity to study at KFI Kilimanjaro Film Institute.

Class 3 on practical training – and hotels will be paying for having them

Class 3 (38 trainees) is about to finish the first phase of Employability Skills Training and are starting the second phase of Practical Training. Jobortunity will send out her trainees for at least three up to six months of practical training instead of two, in order to increase exposure and practical experience. Besides, Jobortunity asks the placements to pay a monthly students fee which will be used for the running of the institute. Many placements support this initiative. Continue reading

Practising Hi5: SHOW TIME on Jobortunity

The last 7 weeks the students worked on a creative project with the aim to be Hi5 individually and within a group. There was a Dance&Music project, Drama, Art, and Computer project.

A Hi5-baby is born..!

The director of Jobortunity Kim Groeneweg and her friend Alfred Itaeli are introducing to you their newborn baby girl KAYA ITAELI! Born on 15th November 2011 in Arusha, 3.2 kg. Mother, father, and baby are doing fine. These coming weeks they will take their rest en enjoy the presence of their beautiful daughter. In December and January they are visiting their family and friends in Holland.
